Eight paintings disappeared in the White House riots

By October 16, 2020No Comments

The White House was seized on the night of October 5-6 as a result of thousands of protests disagreeing with the results of the October 4 parliamentary elections. There were clashes between protesters and security officials.

12 paintings were found, four badly damaged, and eight paintings are still missing.

The Gapar Aitiev Museum submitted documents for further investigation to law enforcement agencies and the customs service. There are suspicions that they may try to export the paintings abroad for sale.

The Ministry of Culture called on all participants in the seizure of the White House to return the lost paintings or report their whereabouts.
