I’ll be honest: I haven’t read ‘Gallows Court’ by Martin Edwards. And books set in pre-war London, the Golden Age of crime fiction, tend not to feature high on my list of ‘must-read’ titles.
But I’ll admit to being all too easily seduced by great covers, bold design and… as in this example… a dramatic slipcase.
Eveything about this shouts 1930s; the style and elegance of the vintage touring car, the sweep of the headlights as they cut through the night.
I’d love to have this on my shelves, even if I never read it…
